Spa At Your Own Bathroom

Here’s What You Need

Nothing more could cure our stress nerves and reenergize our body like the perfect spa day! Sometimes I wish I had a the perfect Spa (Guerlain Spa- Waldorf Astoria) just around the corner and not have to worry about making appointments in advance, or worry about scheduling my other activities- makes it all seem time consuming and super costly if you want to relax multiple times a month. So you know what, I thought- why not just create a spa right in my own home bathroom? It was RIDIC and I highly recommend it. Here is what I came up with and here is what you need:

1. Lighting
Dimming light is key; the goal here is to set the mood, make it a soothing, calming, relaxing, even romantic atmosphere. Turn those working lights into sexy dreamy mood lighting, and light up some candles around the bathtub. Light purple, blue and salmon color are believed the most relaxing colors.

2. Sense Everything: See, Smell, Listen, Feel
Put some bath oil and bath sea salt that are filled with your favorite aromas: jasmine, lavender, honey-rose, you get the idea. If your tub has jets, put it on. Get those bubbles going too, take in that scent. Put some rose petals in, and listen to some calming Bhudda bar tracks. “Cantoma Esserai”- download it.

3. A Kick-A$$ Showerhead
A rainfall showerhead (The bigger the better) is so doable. Order this online, or go to your nearest home appliance store, like home depot- they have many variations. Softer and less grating water is a fantastic way for you to enjoy a massage coming from every single drop. Even better, the steam will just open up your pores and relax you.

4. Toiletries and Essentials
Bubble Bath salt, salt and sugar scrubs, massage oil, perfumed hand soap (try Antica Farmacista’s ‘Prosecco’), a soft plush bath robe (silk or cashmere based on your personal choice), Diffusers, white plush hand and face towels, eye and face masks, body lotion (L’occitane), and my favorite: awesome bathroom slippers. Slices of cucumber wont hurt either.

5. A Tray and a glass of wine
Have some books and magazines ready on the tray. A glass of wine, fruit juice, water with lime- whatever hydrates and relaxes you.

After a long hard day, you deserve to pamper yourself- and you can do this in the comfort of your own home. Time to go Spa Shopping- another fun aspect.
