Founder and CEO Koils by Nature, Pamela J. Booker describes her brand as “an all natural skin and hair product that is vegan and cruelty-free. She “makes sure to have the best product at an affordable price.” We were honored to speak with the brains behind the beauty of this brand, and it’s clear that she is passionate about Koils and its positive impact on the customers and our environment.

When did you start Koils by Nature?
“When I was working as a computer engineer, I was already natural. I noticed that natural products were expensive and limited. Other products didn’t have what I wanted, and I used a product that was drying my hair. I did some research, and started making my products based on personal needs.”
What is you inspiration behind Koils by Nature?
“I wanted to create something that was organic and natural. My inspiration was Lisa Price {founder of beauty brand Carol’s Daughter}. I saw her on Oprah, and she made it possible. I realized I can do this. I wanted to make a great product at a great price.”
Pamela is a perfect example of a “mover and shaker” in the beauty industry. She decided to make a change in her life as well as the lives of others through being an entrepreneur for such a impactful company. Being a female entrepreneur isn’t always easy; however, Pamela has worked hard, which has proven success.
What were some of the challenges and lessons faced as an entrepreneur, and what advice would you give to others wanting to start their own business?
“In the beginning, knowing the pulse of the industry. You have to know the trends to be on top. All-natural beauty really came into the industry in 2010, and I came into the industry in 2009. It’s hard not thinking you know everything, but I surrounded myself with experienced people. Now you can get on Youtube, but before it was not as prevent. My advice is to know your industry, and do your research.”
How do you think the beauty industry has changed since you first started your company?
“It has changed drastically because a lot of natural products are in store. Billion dollar companies are in the market who made their appearance in 2011.”
As a natural beauty product connoisseur, she also had some helpful beauty advice and recommendations.
Other than using your amazing products, what are other ways we can incorporate ethical, all-natural beauty habits into our lives?
“It’s as simple as knowing exactly what you’re putting on your body — reading ingredients and doing research.”
What is your summer skincare routine?
“I focus more on protective styles. I use the Tea Tree Cleanser with protective styles and you can put it to your scalp. Apply Argan Oil at night after washing your face. You should use Replenishing Oil because it absorbs quicker than butter.”

With all the range of beauty products in the market, it’s hard to tell which one is pure and natural vs. a jar of promises that does more harm to your skin than what it claims to do. Great to hear Ms. Pamela is pushing natural skin and hair care products!
I want to try so bad, i’ve been looking for something just like this.
I really appreciate affordable vegan/ all natural beauty products that don’t cost an arm and a leg!! It feels like you have to make a choice between good-for-your-body products and good-for-the-earth, but you can’t have both!
