Nova Octo Founder + CEO Silje Lübbe hosted the fashion start-up’s official launch party in its newly-opened TriBeCa showroom and terrace on Thursday night with some of New York’s best-dressed. Stylists, models, designers, and NYC it-girls stepped out in eveningwear from Nova Octo’s curated archive – Among them were model and TV personality Afiya Bennett in Badgley Mischka Couture joined by fiancé Lloyd Dickenson. Fellow model Sif Saga, in a metallic Maria Lucia Hohan gown, made an appearance with boyfriend Darren Longbottom. Other guests included Anastasia Saf in a sequined YSL mini dress, Jess Clements in a beaded fringe Naeem Khan, Pritika Swarup in an ivory Elie Saab jumpsuit, and Jessica Barta Lam in a navy Johanna Ortiz gown with cascading ruffles.
The celebration took place in Nova Octo’s ultra-chic indoor/outdoor showroom where guests browsed the never-before-seen collections, enjoyed music by Bec Adams (of Les Filles), and catering by Marcey Brownstein. On display were some of Nova Octo’s most spectacular pieces, such as the pale blue high-low tulle Giambattista Valli Couture gown that cascaded down the showroom’s staircase, recently worn by Josephine Skriver on the Cannes red carpet just this past May.
Nova Octo’s sustainable archive of luxury eveningwear and one-of-a-kind couture is now available for rent online. The curated library includes more than 200 dresses in range of sizes, featuring contemporary and vintage designs by the likes of Gucci, Prada, Oscar De La Renta, Giambattista Valli, and more. Nova Octo supports philanthropic organizations with a 15% donation of each purchase at check-out to the charity partner of the renter’s choosing. Nova Octo’s current charity partners support the environment and women’s empowerment, because looking good can feel great too.
