Lately the fashion industry has been in a state of flux. Fast fashion, technology, and executive transitions have everyone wondering what and who will be next. And while change is what the business is all about, it is comforting to know that new, inspired talent is also coming to fruition. After much detailed research, we have selected five representatives for the future of fashion.
1. Chloe Gosselin – Shoe Designer: What we love most about Chloe is that her designs are inspired by nature not trends. Initially she was a painting student at the renowned La Cambe in Belgium. Her studies were then interrupted when she became a runway model. Today, however, she has been able to return to her love of art while maintaining a presence in the fashion industry via shoes. Best part: each of her shoes is named after a poisonous flower!

2. Dorith Mous – Model/Artist/Photographer: It was actually while watching the Academy Awards that we first spotted Dorith. She was wearing a fabulous long sleeve red gown, which we later learned was a different choice from her typical avant-garde style… Dorith was born in Amsterdam but today lives in New York. After ten years of modeling she is now pursuing photography. In 2013 she held her first exhibit entitled “I am YOU” which shed light on discrimination via 14 photos. More recently she created a short film with Alexander Haessner entitled Body Language and plans to show her second photo exhibit in mid-2016.

3. Monse (Laura Kim and Fernando Garci) – Designer: Once again SJP has found the newest face of fashion. And while her Met Gala ensemble was critiqued for being “off theme”, there was no denying the gorgeous craftsmanship of her outfit by Monse… Twelve years of apprenticeship at Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garci launched the collection in Spring 2016. And right from the get-go their first NYFW was a huge success with several notable editors siting front row alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Amal Clooney. Even more exciting, their first collection will be available on Net-A-Porter: an accomplishment very few infant designers can say!

4. Bjarke Ingels – Architect: This Danish architect is taking Manhattan by storm. At forty years of age, his caliber of assignments is extremely impressive. In 2011 he expanded his company, BIG, located in Copenhagen to New York. Since then he has taken on several jobs, but none as notable as the 2 World Trade Center which when complete will be the tallest building in New York City.

5. Blair Breitenstein – Illustrator: We first came across Blair’s illustrations on Instagram, and we are obsessed. She uses smudged water colors for her abstract drawings and is very well respected throughout the luxury community. Most recently she was featured in The New York Times and Vogue.com, and she is currently working on a project for Prada. What I love most is she publicly sells her illustrations too at http://www.blairabreitenstein.com for reasonable prices.
