In a world where fragrance is often reduced to trend cycles and fleeting virality, Maison Alexandre.J moves in the opposite direction — toward permanence, artistry, and the quiet power of reinvention. With its latest chapter, The Collector Elixir, the house doesn’t simply relaunch a collection. It reimagines what an icon can become.

Today, the Parisian house stands among the most artistic names in French perfumery — a maison where fragrance, sculpture, design, travel, and storytelling converge into a singular vision of luxury.

Beyond Perfume: The Object as Art

What distinguishes Alexandre J is its refusal to separate fragrance from design.

The house’s creations possess a sculptural quality rarely seen in contemporary perfumery. Metallic finishes, intricate ornamentation, richly colored glass, and handcrafted presentation transform each bottle into an art object designed to live permanently on a dressing table rather than disappear into a bathroom cabinet.

This philosophy reaches its fullest expression in The Collector Elixir collection.

The house has revisited six of its most celebrated fragrances while preserving their original identities and introducing a new visual language through colored glass flacons that reinforce the maison’s artistic DNA. The bottles become both vessels and sculptures, balancing bold color with contemporary refinement.

According to the house, the transformation is not simply aesthetic. Each bottle and presentation case continues to reflect more than fifteen years of artisanal craftsmanship and hand-finished excellence.

The New Elixir Chapter

The Collector Elixir line represents a significant evolution for the brand.

Created in collaboration with perfumers Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel of Studio Flair, the collection modernizes several iconic compositions while remaining faithful to their original spirit. The fragrances have been reinterpreted with greater texture, sophistication, and contemporary nuance.

Among the standouts:

Black Muscs II Elixir introduces black cherry into the original rose-and-musk composition, creating a darker, more magnetic interpretation.

Morning Muscs II Elixir offers radiant softness through peach, osmanthus, and white musk.

Rose Oud II Elixir modernizes traditional oud through red fruits and rose.

Golden Oud II Elixir explores oriental warmth through saffron, oud, clove, and benzoin.

White Night, the newest addition, introduces fig milk, ginger, and sandalwood in a composition designed around clarity, comfort, and modern elegance.

Each fragrance is accompanied by an emotional archetype rather than a demographic category.

The Magnetic Icon.

The Fire Keeper.

The Modern Sovereign.

The Luminous Presence.

This approach reflects the house’s belief that fragrance is ultimately about identity rather than gender, age, or trend.

A Craft That Still Lives in the Hand

Despite its contemporary visual language, The Collector Elixir remains grounded in a deeply traditional understanding of luxury.

Each bottle and case continues to be handcrafted, preserving a savoir-faire that has defined the Maison for over fifteen years. In an industry increasingly shaped by scale and automation, this commitment to artisanal execution feels almost radical in its own quietness.

The Maison’s original aluminum collection remains available, underscoring a philosophy of continuity rather than replacement. The Collector Elixir does not erase what came before — it exists alongside it, as a more expressive and future-facing interpretation of the same creative language.

In Conversation With PERFUMER & BRAND DIRECTOR Amélie Jabban

We get to know perfumer Amélie Jabban more closely, both as a creative individual and through her reflections on the Maison:

When someone wears one of your fragrances, what do you hope they remember—not about the scent, but about themselves?

I hope they remember a feeling — a moment of confidence, freedom, elegance, or connection with themselves. A fragrance is deeply personal; it becomes part of someone’s identity. I want people to feel that the scent reveals something that was already inside them.

Tell us about your journey into the world of fragrance.

I grew up in the world of fragrance. It is a universe that has always fascinated me, especially because a simple form can become a true artistic object. Later on, I had the opportunity to work with major groups, experiencing their vision and approach to marketing. Today, being responsible for and directing the Alexandre J Parfums brand is ultimately part of my DNA, as if it had always been written.

Was there a particular memory, place, emotion, or experience that inspired the collection?

The Élixir collection was inspired by our first Collector collection, which embodies the brand’s DNA: a visual, colorful collection filled with modernity, but above all, with soul. Each color corresponds to a personality, and each color reflects an emotion we wish to convey. Ultimately, it is a way to make niche perfumery more accessible while preserving its identity.

Were there any notes or accords that became signatures within The Signature Elixir collection?

This collection carries an extremely powerful olfactory signature. The top notes are designed to immediately create a “love at first smell” effect. Among my favorites are Black Muscs, with its black cherry and rose accord, as well as White Night, the newest creation of the House, built around a fig and ginger accord.

How do you see the brand evolving over the next few years?

We see the brand evolving toward modernity, gaining a stronger presence in retail spaces and strategic locations. It is a House that will continue to grow while remaining independent and protected from mass production, which is essential for us. We will also integrate more modern tools and technologies to convey emotion even more powerfully.

What does luxury mean to you in 2026?

Does the definition of luxury really change? For me, the idea of making people dream remains tied to exclusivity, uniqueness, and exception. This definition of luxury will not change in 2026, just as it has not changed since the early 2000s. The difference today is that Alexandre J makes this exclusivity more accessible.

How do travel and culture influence your creative vision?

Travel and culture deeply influence our vision, as they nourish our imagination and allow us to envision products differently. We work on a global scale and ensure we convey a universal message. Our raw materials come from all over the world, creating a tribute to diversity and a true message of peace. Transmitting universal emotions is an integral part of our craft.

What is on your bedside table?

On my bedside table, you will always find orange blossom essential oil, a book, and an hourglass. The hourglass reminds me of the importance of time and the need to remain aware of our life’s rhythm.

Favorite apps?

Instagram, to observe newness and emerging trends. I also use artificial intelligence tools to explore new ways of maximizing creative impact. CapCut and Pinterest are also part of my daily routine to fuel inspiration.

Residence(s)?

Between Paris and Dubai.

Current obsession?

I love eating, exploring, and pushing boundaries, whether olfactory or gastronomic.

If you could bottle one destination?

Bali. For its rich, soothing, yet powerful nature. It is a place full of character and energy, which I could easily imagine translated into a fragrance.

Amélie ends our interview with “Alexandre J is today one of the most artistic French fragrance houses. Each bottle is inspired by reality: the evolution of time, styles, and architecture. It is a house with a soul, independent, and fully in control of its future and destiny according to its own vision“. –
