Lincoln Star Concept Car Debut

We have previously written about how the global luxury SUV market is heating up and competition becoming fierce. Now, Lincoln is throwing its hat into the ring with the launch of the Star Concept, a fully electric vehicle. The concept will help to guide Lincoln’s future design as the American car maker is aiming to add three new fully electric vehicles to its fleet by the middle of the decade and a fourth one by 2026.

According to Ford’s CEO Jim Farley, “This is a shining example of what happens when we combine Lincoln luxury with flexible electrical architecture to create unimaginable experiences for customers.” The design of the car is sleek and elegant. Illuminated crystallines, backlit doors, modern and spacious seats are just some of the car’s features. The large panorama glass in the roof is clearly an eye-catcher and allows for great experiences watching the night sky.

Joe Falotico, President of Lincoln, said it best when describing the Star Concept as “an excellent example of how we are redefining luxury for the next generation as we work to transform the vehicle into a third space – a true place of sanctuary – for our clients.”

This is a concept car this is clearly designed to play offense on the global luxury SUV market. Lincoln is aiming to build on its recent momentum. Last year, the company achieved its best annual sales number in 21 years, despite chip shortages and other industry headwinds. Recent launches of the Zephyr in China and Navigator in North America are just the beginning.
