If We Were to Host Meghan Markle in NYC, This Is How We Would Do It

written by Global Glam August 8, 2019

Meghan Markle may have lived out her life in relative peace and quiet as an actress and food blogger; however, her world turned upside down when she fell in love and married English Prince Harry. Now dubbed the Duchess of Sussex, Markle has had to adapt to a whole new world of rules and etiquette which many of us would find unbearably burdensome. But the young woman manages it all with the grace and style befitting of her station.

If she were to get another chance to tour New York City with her crew, we’d love to show her the time of her life in a manner deserving of royalty. Here are five things we’d love to treat Markle during her stay in NYC — even if she can’t make it, you must treat yourself to these divine experiences:

The Lowell Hotel – Stay

Ultra private and perfectly located, The Lowell Hotel would suit a royal who doesn’t want to be bothered with paparazzi or the busy tourist areas of New York. The Lowell is a 5 star landmark luxury hotel, nestled in the upper east side, near central park and a stone’s throw from the celebrated fashion houses of Madison Avenue and footsteps from Fifth Avenue, perfect for shopping with the girls. The lobby’s new grand marble staircase directly accesses one of New York’s best kept secrets. Brunch at Majorelle is a heavenly experience celebrating French Classics with Mediterranean influences from the Riviera to Morocco. Seasonal ingredients and wine pairings change in tempo with the flowering botanical oasis in the Garden, which offers outdoor seating year round. It’s no wonder Revlon founder and billionaire, Ron Perelman lives next door and dines here frequently (you can see his Picassos and Renoirs from the street).

Baccarat Afternoon Tea – Do

It’s only fitting for Meghan and her crew to carry on the afternoon tea tradition, and New York has some monumental afternoon teas that are comparable if not better to it’s British originator. Quite the luxurious hidden secret, The Baccarat Hotel in New York City has a Grand Salon that cascades a spectrum of rainbows while you are sipping afternoon tea during the day. She will enjoy specialty blends of tea brewed by the Tea Sommelier paired with chef-selected canapés and petit fours. “The Prince of Wales” is the service we recommend, perfectly suited for a Princess.

Hours of Afternoon Tea is 12pm to 4pm, Prince of Wales Tea Service $90

Spa De La Mer – Luxuriate

The Spa De La Mer at Baccarat Hotel is the first and only La Mer Spa in the US, housing an enormous fifty five foot pool, signature red and white Baccarat poolside cabanas, and the most striking hibiscus tea upon arrival. We recommend the La Mer miracle Broth Facial, the crème de la crème of facials which transforms with bespoke massage techniques and a pure infusion of La Mer’s coveted Miracle Broth. Exclusive to this spa experience, this extract empowers the five facets of renewal of moisture, regeneration, soothing, smoothing and radiance, helping to bring skin back to its center. We do not recommend anything less than the very best for the Duchess.

Ralph’s Coffee on Madison – Caffeine Break

Perfect before a morning’s walk to central park, Ralph’s coffee shop nestled inside the Madison flagship store is the epitome of chic.It is no wonder Mr. Lauren made his cafe, a runway showcasing his recent 2019 collection.

888 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021, (212) 434-8000

The Polo Bar – Dine

She’s definitely been here before, and we don’t blame her. We would do this one every time we visit NYC. Inspired by classic New York establishments and Ralph Lauren’s love of gathering around the table with family and friends, The Polo Bar offers a casual yet refined setting for food and drink in the heart of NYC.

Private Dining Room At Rainbow Room – Soak In

Dubbed “A corner in the clouds”, The Rainbow Room Presides 65 stories above Midtown Manhattan. The Private Dining Room offers personalized attention and walls of windows so that Meghan and her crew could soak in striking views to the south and west. Adjacent to the Rainbow Room, this exclusive space is ideal for intimate meals. We highly recommend stepping next door to Bar Sixty five.

Rainbow Room, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, 65th Floor New York, NY  10112 USA, 212.632.5000

Assouline at the Plaza – Lounge & Journal

While VIP’s and paparazzi prone celebs can’t exactly go incognito in NYPL’s beautiful Rose Room (which we highly recommend in any case), The Assouline Book Lounge is another under-the radar small corner, situated in the Plaza Hotel. Perfect for some in-between lounging, journaling, and reading.

768 5th Ave, New York, NY 10019, (212) 593-7236

The Pierre – Visit & Dine

The girls can settle into a recently reimagined space and soak in The Pierre’s iconic murals the the Pierre’s Rotunda Restaurant. Completed in 1967 by renowned artist Edward Melcarth, the artwork is a tongue-in-cheek ode to the 1960’s Manhattan social scene. Perfect for a bite or an ode.

I’ve been to Baccarat. Can also recommend the Tsar Nicholas afternoon tea. Their caviar is great!

I love NYC. So much to do and enjoy. The Duchess appears to be simple even though she lives a great life. All of these things are glam and seem so exciting to enjoy.
