111 West 57th Street, also known as the Steinway Tower, is the world’s skinniest skyscraper. After almost seven years of construction, the building is finally open. Depending whether you measure the height of the building by roof or antenna, it will be the 2nd or 3rd highest building in NYC. It has 84 stories and is 1,428 feet tall. And with a width-to-height ratio of 1:24 it has become the world’s skinniest skyscraper. The building in itself perfectly blends the past and the future of NYC. On the one hand, there is the tower that contains all the modern luxury apartments. On the other hand, it was built on the iconic Steinway Hall that formerly contained the Steinway & Sons store and was constructed in 1925.

The building was designed by SHoP Architects with the interior design coming from Studio Sofield. Steinway Tower has 60 apartments. Currently available residences range from a 2,580 sq ft 2-bedroom apartments that will cost you $7.75 million to a 7,130 sq ft 4-bedroom penthouse with a 1,367 sq ft terrace that will set you back a whopping $66 million. Plenty of units have already sold. Just two months ago, a penthouse sold for $54 million. That’s no coincidence. It offers unobstructed, 360-degree views of Manhattan. Located on the famous Billionaire’s Row, right on the Southern end of Central Park, living in Manhattan cannot get any better.

But not only do you get the views and luxurious apartment, the purchase price also includes plenty of amenities including: a private porte cochere that lets you escape from paparazzi and unwanted eyes, 24h doorman and concierge staff attending to any kind of need and ask, an 82’ lap pool with cabanas and lounge seating, expansive outdoor terraces to relax and entertain and many more.
