Unfortunately, it is when we are at our lowest point that we see who really stands behind us, with warm hands on our shoulders.

It has been over a week since Orlando, Florida faced triple tragedies: On June 10th, Christina Grimmie was shot and killed at her meet-and-greet post show at The Plaza Live Theater by a man named, Kevin Loibl. At 2:00AM, ET, June 12th, a man by the name of Omar Mateen went on a rampage at a gay night club called, Pulse, killing 49 and wounding 53. A few days later, On June 14th, an alligator took the life of a two year old boy named, Lane Graves, near a Walt Disney World hotel. We at Global Glam, found it truly inspirational to see how the world has shown a strong stand in solidarity for those affected through vigils and as lights of the pride colors have been displayed as the forefront of unity worldwide.

People of all backgrounds and beliefs have shown support, even when their life did not reflect that of the person to their left nor to their right. Worldwide, people stand together and view the acts around them as unacceptable and with all they have within, they send a powerful message of unity. Various outlets have been put in place to help the victims of Orlando, the most prominent being the donation of blood, at Florida’s blood center, OneBlood. LGBT organizations such as, Equality Florida have set up a GoFundMe page.

Financial helping, physical helping, prayer and presence, make a tremendous difference. We are inspired by African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.
