In the summertime the sky is the limit in the Big Apple.  Well if not the sky, at least the rooftop…  Wondering where to start?  What to wear? We have the ultimate guide for you!

Mr. Purple:  A relatively new lower east side hotspot complete with bar, restaurant, pool, and view.  The look (created by renowned Crème Design) is minimal, but the energy is vibrant. The 3000 square-foot interior space includes two terraces:  east and west.  The east side lounge is perfect for intimate gatherings or after work drinks with colleagues. The west side offers a pool and more table space for outdoor dining. Be sure to try these signature drinks: Manhattan and the Old Fashion.

The Jane Hotel Rooftop:  The Jane Ballroom has been no stranger to fashion  and Hollywood royalty.  Its rich décor compliments its exclusive atmosphere.  Think old world glamour: velvet couches, ornate rugs, vintage furnishings, oak bars, and a Studio54 disco ball. Then just to add to the grandeur a dramatic rooftop bar and terrace was added in 2012.  But not so fast.  Unless you are Anna Wintour it’s best call ahead.  Reservations and an entourage are recommended.

  • Location:  113 Jane Street at the Hudson River

Rooftop at the NoMad:  North of Madison Square Park within a paragon of Beaux Arts lies the Parisian-inspired Nomad.  Complete with a 200-year-old imported French fire place, this avant-garde, luxury hotel has attracted international attention.  Not quite as well-known however is its rooftop banquet.  Perfect for a wide variety of private receptions, this versatile cocktail and/or dining area includes both 850 square feet of indoor space and 1100 square feet outdoor space.  The ornate design is perfect with a glass (or two) of Billecart-Salmon “NoMad” Extra Brut Champagne.
